/A NEW AND IMPROVED BRIDGE

THE BRIDGE

/OUR STORY

San Francisco has the Golden Gate Bridge, Klosters, Switzerland has the Sunniberg Bridge, every well-known city and town has a remarkable landmark. Santa Clarita needs a bridge that stands out, an eye-catching structure that stands out from the suburb’s three shades of beige. Emboldened by the new LA River bridge in Atwater, California, I ideated, modeled, and rendered a bridge that will change the face of Santa Clarita. This bridge design focuses on function, beauty, safety, and community. The bridge design meets the design standards presented by the Montana Department of Transportation, and the design manual by the Structure Design Detailing Technical Committee within the Division of Engineering Services (DES).

The current bridge was built and designed in the 70s-80s when rivets were used in bridge construction - an outdated technique that is not up to standard.


The new Sand Canyon development and proposed community building will increase traffic on the bridge.
The current bridge is aesthetically unremarkable.


The sidewalk is too narrow for the cyclists that frequent the route.


The current bridge does not accommodate incoming cyclists in opposite directions or cyclists and pedestrians.
